Ollie Walter Bruce NC's story

Ollie Walter Bruce is a 4-year-old male Boston terrier that weighs approximately 18 lbs. His birthday is November 30, 2013. He was adopted as a pup, but he was returned after several years due to not getting along with other more aggressive dogs in the home and some biting issues.

This is what Ollie's former owner had to say about him: Ollie was very sweet with his people, loved to snuggle and sleep under the covers with us. He never had an accident in the house and wasnt a chewer.  He is not a big barker but will alert you to someone coming to the house. He walked well on a leash (as long as he didnt encounter a person or dog). Ollie loves to play ball and loves water, jumping in a sprinkler is his greatest joy. Ollie fiercely loved our children. Part of the problem, he didnt like anyone he didnt know near them and bit a few of their friends. He really is the sweetest, most loving dog, and we still miss him everyday.

Ollie was sent to Boot Camp and has done well there with no biting and no issues with the other dog he is paired with at exercise time. The trainer says he is ready for adoption to the right home. A potential adopter would need to be willing to travel to middle North Carolina for a training session with the trainer and final approval by her.

Because of Ollie's history, we would like to place him in a home with no children to set him up for success. He would be fine as the only pet or with other non-aggressive dogs.  He is neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines and heart worm negative.

The process always begins with an application which can be found at The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee website
Note that in most cases, we do not adopt to families with small children, e.g., 'under 6,' as a precaution to the child's safety and the dog's safety. In some cases with larger Boston mixes or other dogs, we do make exceptions. Please ask the foster momma.
We prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to personally drive/fly to get the dog.  The East Coast division (NC/SC/VA/MD/DC) does have special transport capabilties for their kids.   Ask them.
Also, submission of an application and fee does not guarantee adoption of any specific Boston since that particular dog may have applications pending or may not be the right match for you.
